Player Spotlight on Tom Dwan
Internet Poker Prepared Tom Dwan for the Spotlight
Tom Dwan is a young poker player from Edison, New Jersey. Only 23 years old, he is barely of age to gamble, yet he made more money last year than most doctors and lawyers. Dwan was first exposed to the game of Texas Hold’em by playing with fake money at the internet card room Empire Poker. From the first time he took down a pot, it was a sure thing that Dwan had a bright future. He quickly moved from the play money ranks and deposited the minimum amount of $50. The small deposit was a great investment, to say the least, because after just one year he boosted his bankroll over $15,000.
He has always been a good student, which he proved by entering the engineering program at the prestigious Boston University. However, like many great players that came before him and surely those to follow, Dwan spent little time worrying about his studies and more time raking in the pots. With his bankroll swelling over 100K, it was no surprise that he gave up school to pursue his poker career. Dwan moved to Texas where he purchased a house at the ripe old age of 20 and started to plan his future. He was playing online with the some of the top players in the world and he knew it was time to take his poker game to the highest level possible.
Unfortunately, Dwan could not play in the major USA poker events until he reached the age of 21. Lucky for him, that left a lot of time to refine his game at the internet tables. Of course he entered the World Series of Poker the first year he was eligible and surprised everyone by cashing in two events and reaching the final table in one of them. Dawn has also made a few appearances in the world’s most prestigious poker events, but he reserves his most time to play in the game he loves the most, heads up Texas Holdem.

Play Online Poker
Tom Dwan has already proven himself as an elite internet player and a very competent young force in the biggest live tournaments. However, his passion remains playing high stakes heads up Texas Holdem. He will play any person any time any place. He is even willing to risk $1 million if someone wants to play a marathon internet match of 50,000 hands. Although he is a young kid and he may not have the same amount of experience as some of the seasoned veterans, Dwan says he has the edge against anyone that wants to play him heads up. It is surely a trait that will define him on his march to poker super stardom.
